FAQ

Questions readers ask before converting ebooks.

A practical guide to supported formats, privacy, output quality and common conversion failures. Every answer links back to the converter workflow when there is a useful next step.

Is converterepub free to use?

Yes. You can start an ebook conversion without creating an account or entering a credit card. Some large or complex files may require a deployed conversion endpoint with enough server resources.

Which ebook and document formats are supported?

converterepub supports EPUB, PDF, DOCX, ODT, RTF, TXT, HTML, MOBI, AZW, AZW3, AZW4, PRC, CBZ, CBR, CBC, FB2, LIT, LRF, CHM, PDB, PML, RB, SNB, TCR and TXTZ routes.

Are uploaded files private?

The interface is built for a private workflow. Browser-native routes run locally when possible, and server routes should be deployed on infrastructure you control. Do not upload DRM-protected or sensitive files to a converter endpoint you do not trust.

Does conversion preserve chapters and formatting?

The result depends on the source file quality. Text and HTML routes preserve readable structure, while Calibre-backed routes are designed to keep chapters, metadata, cover images and layout where the source format supports them.

Can I use the converted EPUB on Kindle, Kobo or Apple Books?

Yes. EPUB output is designed for modern reading apps and libraries including Apple Books, Kobo, Google Play Books and Kindle workflows that accept EPUB uploads.

Why does a conversion sometimes fail?

Common causes include DRM protection, corrupted source files, password-protected documents, unsupported embedded media or a conversion server that does not have Calibre available.
